Zara Holland has had a BIG year.

She started 2016 as Miss Great Britain, after winning the title in 2015.

Then in June, Zara appeared on our summer TV obsession, Love Island.

Srsly, was there anyone who WASN'T watching?

We watched Kady McDermott and Scott Thomas fall for each other.

We saw Alex Bowen and Olivia Buckland get together (and a LOT of Alex Bowen after that leaked picture).

We also screamed for Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey when they won the series.

These couples got their happy endings from the show, but there was plenty of drama going on.

Nathan was just refused entry to the club where Cara used to work. Awks.

But the biggest dramz to happen on Love Island 2016 was Zara Holland being stripped of her Miss GB title after getting nawti with Alex Bowen.

Miss Great Britain controversially stripped Zara of her title (we still don't get why), and Zara had to come face to face with her replacement on Loose Women a couple of months later.

We watched Zara and the new Miss GB Deone Robertson get heated on the panel, and it was reported at the time that the fight continued backstage. A source claimed that Zara kicked off and was asked to leave the premises.

Zara told the panel that Deone didn't deserve the title because she didn't win, and that if she was in Deone's situation, she wouldn't have taken it.

Deone hit back: "If I didn't take it, someone else would have and this is my dream too. You gave it up. You made the choice. Zara worked really hard to win and she did lots of charity work. But if you can't fulfil your role, it does say in the rules that it goes to the runner-up."

Awks.

Today, Zara returned to Loose Women to clear up exactly what happened with Deone.

She told the panel that things did get heated backstage, but that she did not get escorted from the studios:

"We went back to the green room and I had words with the Miss GB organisers but I left of my own accord. It's totally in the past now, I'm the happiest I've ever, ever been. I got asked to take part in Release The Hounds, I also raised money for charity. I'm launching my own bikini line and it's something I've always wanted to do."

YES, Zara – that is how you deal with drama.
