We at heat may be stuck in a rut of January blues, extreme tiredness and very concerning New Year's Eve flashbacks, but by golly are we glad that 2016 is over.
Aside from the obvious, last year was fraught with so much dramz and shade throwing that our nerves just couldn't take anymore.
Our favourite of these was the release of Little Mix's Shoutout To My Ex, which (ALLEGEDLY) attacked Zayn Malik's bedroom skills.
Obviously its release stirred up a whole lot of shit, and Zayn's own cousin, Sasha Malik, was accused of siding with Perrie Edwards when she apparently posted and deleted lyrics to the song.
Erm. Maybe she just likes it? It is a banger tbf.
And she's now hit back at the haters, posting a series of tweets beginning: "apologies to those genuinely offended by my tweet. I understand that it was easily misunderstood. no shade though, ever."
"however, I will not hate on a person for having a past with a relative of mine. both of them have now moved on. the world should too."
"the fact that the song is about zayn doesn't cross my mind when I listen to it. to me, it's just a song."

In (sort of) related news, did you hear that Zayn was reportedly writing solo music while still in One Direction?

Chatting to i-D mag, producer MNEK explained: "At the time he was still in One Direction, so I wasn't sure if what we were doing made sense. I didn't understand what was actually going on at the time - when we made Pillowtalk there was no plan, it was just us in the studio with [producers] MYKL.
"There was no plan, it was just okay let's make a plan. There was no talk of him going solo or working on an album. It was the most random thing."
