It’s only the 4th of January and we’ve already had one red carpet event to ogle at. Just wait until all of the other awards shows start. We. Cannot. WAIT.
On the 2nd of January stars of the film world hit the Palm Springs International Film Festival Gala to celebrate all things silver screen. They also had the opportunity to dust off their red carpet finery and polish their shoes (as if) after the festive break. This lot looked particularly splendid. Helen Mirren
Helen Mirren looked incred in her royal blue Alberta Ferrretti ensemble. The lightweight knit, elegantly teamed with a bell-shaped skirt, gave the Brit a relaxed yet chic vibe. Plus it had pockets, which totally wins very time.
Cate Blanchett
Aussie star Cate Blanchett was a vision in this grey-blue Marc Jacobs gown with long sleeves and a metallic sequin embellished flower. The pinky lipstick added just the right amount of colour.
Brie Larson
This emerald Jason Wu midi with noodle straps and a square neck gave us so many 90s feels. Brie Larson’s super straight locks and muted eye shadow added even more retro to the look.
Kate Winslet
Showing off her gorge figure in Roland Mouret, Kate Winslet wowed at the posh bash. The actress looked happy and confident in the slick LBD.

Another Hollywood babe nailing the LBD. Rooney Mara chose this Lanvin cocktail frock to make her 2016 red carpet debut. We love the dramatic noir eyes, too.
