A wise woman (Sporty Spice, innit) once said "Liam, come and have a go if you think you're hard enough." But d'ya know what? Liam Gallagher's never one to shy away from a challenge. It's those hardy Mancunian roots. So, when Absolute Radio's Christian O'Connell asked Liam to show off his rapping skills, of course he bloody rose to it.

Following his performance at Ariana Grande's One Love Manchester benefit show the other week, Liam dropped by for a chat with Christian and - while he's usually more cigarettes and alcohol - thought he'd channel his inner Skepta this time.

Having a chinwag about the possibility of a proper, full-on grime album Liam said: "When I sing that’s me man, that’s my sound. I don’t want to do a Jungle album but mate, I’ve got some grime lyrics at the moment, man.

"Me little boy, Gene, he’s into it; he’s into the Skepta stuff – I’m playing some festivals with him so I’ll check it out this year. Lennon, me oldest son, he’s into all the classic stuff – Beatles and the Stones and that...And then Gene is a bit of a Who-head, but he’s into this Grime stuff."

The best bit? Liam spat a few bars (are we cool yet?) of his own grime track. It's bloody brilliant and, yeah; it's right here for your eyes and ears:

Forget everything you thought you knew. Liam's swapping his champagne supernova for a bottle of Grey Goose dahhhhn Sugar Hut, mate.

Head to the Absolute Radio Facebook page to see more videos of Liam’s interview with Christian O’Connell. He talks about Noel Gallagher One Love Gate and everything.
