Sam Smith has revealed he is about to release new music for the first time in two years.
In an emotional Instagram post, he wrote: “To my beautiful fans, first of all I want to say thank you. Thank you for being so patient and for letting me have the past year to really escape into my mind and write music so freely.
"I feel so rejuvenated and have so many stories I can't wait to tell you. I have missed you all desperately, and a day hasn't gone by when I haven't been looking at all your comments & dreaming of signing with you all again.”
"The wait is so nearly over. Something is coming very, very soon.
"I am scared & excited at the same time. I've poured my soul and heart into this record. Love you all, and see you in the not so distant future."
This will be a follow-up to Sam’s debut album In The Lonely Hour, which he released in 2014. This was the fastest selling debut album of 2014 in the UK, and in 2015 it was named Best Pop Vocal Album at the Grammys.
Earlier this summer, Sam teased new music by posting photos from the studio on Instagram.
And, in April, producer Timbaland shared photos of him and Sam in the studio, writing that it was a “pleasure” to be working with the British singer.
