Despite many fans of Love Island thinking Sam Gowland and Georgia Harrison were nothing more than just friends, their romance seemed to be going well outside of the show. That was until the pair confirmed they were over in a series of tweets over the weekend.

Former The Only Way Is Essex star Georgia seemed to call out Sam for cheating on her in a tweet which confirmed the couple were no longer together. She wrote, 'Would like to confirm that myself and sam are no longer together. Unfortunately for some men one girl isn't always enough' [sic].

With fans immediately thinking Sam had been unfaithful towards his girl, Georgia sent out another tweet, confirming he hadn't cheated and in fact their relationship broke down weeks ago.

Georgia then confused her fan base even further with her third tweet which read, 'But following on from his social media posts last night I felt it's best to announce we are both single.'

With many thinking Georgia and Sam's relationship had ended on bad terms due to her tweets, Sam was forced to defend his friendship with the reality star.

Confirming they'd split up, Sam wrote, 'I can confirm that me and georgia aren't together anymore, we haven't been for a while now! Wish her all the best in the future x' [sic]

After a number of false stories about the pair landed on the Internet, Sam later confirmed he is still good friends with Georgia...

To prove the point even further, both Sam and Georgia later attended an event together along with their fellow Love Island friend Tyla Carr.

That's that cleared up!

Sam and Georgia are the second Love Island couple to split up since the show ended last month.

Despite telling Montana he 'loved' her during his time in the villa, Montana and Alex announced they'd broken up, with Montana admitting the model had changed since they left the show.

Taking to Twitter, Montana wrote, 'Alex and I have decided to split. Making our relationship work on the outside has been hard. He hasn’t been the same since coming out the villa. Despite this we are still close and I will always support him.'

Despite this, our favourite couples including Kem and Amber, Chris and Olivia, Jamie and Camilla, and Marcel and Gabby are all going strong.
