Aliona Vilani has revealed she’s left S*trictly Come Dancing *after winning the show with Jay McGuiness at the weekend.

The professional dancer called time on the dancing competition with a message on Twitter. “Going into this Strictly Come Dancing Series 13, I decided that no matter what would happen, it will be my last one,” Aliona tweeted to her fans.

In another tweet, she added: “After 7 years on Strictly Come Dancing, as my finale, this has been my best Strictly experience ever by a long way!”

Aliona joined S_CD_ back in 2007 and previously bagged the glitter ball trophy with McFly’s Harry Judd.

In this series of the* BBC One* show, the married dancer came under fire after it was rumoured she was getting close to Jay but in an interview earlier this week, the former Wanted singer ended the speculation for good.

“When you dance with someone you have to create romance sometimes and people then want to see that almost,” Jay told* ITV*'s Lorraine. “But a lot of the time the papers create it and that sort of thing, but I think no matter what I say people will write whatever they want to write.”

Speaking about his time on the show, and about working with Aliona, Jay continued:

“We did something that so few people do together, I genuinely will treasure it forever. No matter what happens you get a best friend out of Strictly.”
