We have to admit, Celine Dion is one of our guilty pleasures and not just because of the Titanic theme track.
No, 48-year-old Celine is kooky as hell too. Like really, if you haven’t watched the hundreds of videos of her being goofy on YouTube then go watch; she’ll have your sides splitting.
Just when we thought we’d exhausted videos of the singer pretending to be a bird or falling over, however, we got an early Christmas gift. Appearing on US show The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, the Canadian-French star slayed the Wheel Of Musical Impressions game.
Asked to sing Frère Jacques in the style of Cher, Celine cried out that it wasn’t fair, on the grounds that Cher’s her friend and the song is French. That didn’t stop her pulling off a mega impersonation of Cher’s bellowing low voice though.
The singer also aced a Sia impersonation – warbling along to nursery rhyme Hush Little Baby in the style of the Aussie songstress. Although Sia’s soaring vocals aren’t the easiest or funniest thing to impersonate, Celine pulled it off by throwing her hair over her head Sia-style and pretending to lose Jimmy Fallon.
Our favourite impression however, was her rendition of Row Row Row Your Boat in the style of Rihanna. She really put in some work (work work work work work) for that one. She sexed the nursery rhyme up into a bizarre version of Rihanna’s hit Work and even attempted to twerk until a cautious Jimmy reminded her “kids watch the show”. Spoilsport.
Although our Celine clearly loves the sound of her own voice, we’re super-glad she’s back doing the media rounds after she announced her new tour. Please come to the UK soon Celine!
