It's Friday morning, our heads are a little foggy and we're pretty much already clocking off for the weekend, in our minds anyway, so we're finding it a little bit difficult to comprehend this nugget of music news.

There's talk flying about that Ed Sheeran actually wrote his HUUUUGE hit Shape Of You for Little Mix.

Little Mix

Seems pretty fair, right? And we can kinda imagine Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirwall belting out the catchy AF chorus. But what's really got us all in a bit of dizzy spell is that Ed previously revealed he considered pitching the song to Rihanna.

So, wait. Was Rihanna second choice? IN WHAT WORLD IS RIHANNA SLOPPY SECONDS?

Thanksfully, Ed has now cleared up the whole situation and reveal the real story.

Speaking to BeBox on their Facebook video, Ed said: "Do you know what, the actual story is, we started it for Little Mix originally.

"And then halfway through I was like, 'Actually this sounds like it could be good for Rihanna'.

"And then more of the way through we were like, 'Yeah, this is actually pretty good. We should keep it'."

It's kind of like when you order a pretty decent sounding meal with the intntion of sharing it around, and you say to your mates, 'oh you have to try some' but really it's sooooo mouth-wateringly delicious you decide you want to keep it all for yourself.

Yeah, that.

"I didn't want to keep it," Ed continued.

"I was like, 'We should give it away, it doesn't really sound like me'. But this was way before I sunk my teeth into it and put acoustic guitars on it and made it more loop-pedal friendly."

'Cos is it even Ed Sheeran if there isn't a loop-pedal involved?
