YouTube stars to look out for in 2016

Forget the Brit School and The X Factor, the stars of the future are doing it for themselves on YouTube.

Julia Hardy

Even your nan has heard of Zoella these days, but who are the vloggers to catch before everyone else catches on?

Here are six YouTubers we reckon are ones to watch, like literally, in 2016.

Julia Hardy

The tech guru

Does technology give you the horn? Know your iPhone 7 from your elbow? Then Julia is the woman for you. You may already know her face as she talks on Sky about techno-news (fancy) but it’s online that we believe Julia shines.

Her ‘I’ll play any crap’ gaming slot on YouTube makes us #LOL, and her videos dissecting the latest gadgets and gizmos for Very is genuinely useful.

My Pale Skin

The world-shaker

Em became a YouTube sensation when she posted a video of herself both wearing make-up and with bare skin, alongside the comments people made about the snaps (spoiler: people can be right bastards).

The video got 17million hits.

Her other YouTube posts, generally make-up tutorials, have been relatively small fry but if she can do anything as moving in 2016 as the ‘you look disgusting’ video then she’s definitely one to watch.

Willam Belli

The rude one

You may already recognize Willam from season 4 of Ru Paul’s Drag Race - he was the one who may well have won had he not been thrown off for breaking the rules. But you can’t keep a good girl down and Willam has launched a career on YouTube.

While her hits aren’t staggering yet, what is interesting is the YouTube mega-stars she works with, especially in the drag makeover series.

But BE WARNED - her humour sails very close to the bone, and so this isn’t one for those of a sensitive disposition. And no, you’re mixing metaphors.

Callux with his dog

Callux

The prankster

You know your annoying little brother? Imagine if he and his idiotic mate had a YouTube channel in which they pranked members of the public and it was actual LOL funny. Yeah, that’s Callux.

One for rainy days, grey days and when you just need a try-and-hold-your-pee in laugh.

Keanu Boss

Keanu Boss

The football fittie

OK, not gonna lie. There is a whole lotta footie in Keanu’s vids. BUT:

  1. He is a Gooner
  1. His posts such as the Sprite / banana challenge are proper funny, and
  1. He is super easy on the eye.

So we’ll be glued to Keanu Campbell’s channel in 2016. For research purposes, you understand.

Carly Musleh

The punt

Whether you’re a beauty novice wondering how best to shave your legs, or a beauty pro who needs to know if using red lipstick as concealer really does work, Carly’s north-east tones and down to earth style are a winner. Could Carly be 2016’s PIxieWoo? Watch this space.
