Strictly

Is it just us, or has this year's Strictly Come Dancing been way more contro the previous years?

There was that whole Anastacia / Tameka Empson dance-off dramz.

Then they found themselves in the centre of a bit of a race row.

Not good, eh?

One shining beacon of light in all this Strictly scandal, though, is a certain Mr Ed Balls.

But, while we think his American Smooth is a credit to this business we call show, not everyone is as big a fan of Balls-y as we are.

And there have even been calls to pull him from the show, to prevent more talented dancers from losing out in the competition.

Hmm, interesting…

Pretty soon Strictly could be facing more cries of 'It's a fix' than an X Factor results show.

However, one Strictly icon is standing by our mate Ed and has even backed him to win the show.

Speaking to heat at Winter Wonderland last night, Anton Du Beke revealed who he wants his Strictly winner to be.

"Ed Balls – every time," he said.

LOL that name gets us – every time.

"He's my favourite," Anton continued.

The dancer also explained that Ed Balls definitely should not pull out of the competition.

"He's brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. For me, he's the epitome of Striclty Come Dancing."

Hear, hear.

"He actually dancers very well, it's just the standard is incredible high," Anton added.

However, Anton did make it clear that Ed may not be getting his hands on that glitterball too easily, as the competition is hotting up.

"After Blackpool it always gets a bit serious. And whoever wins will be a worthy winner, because they're all great," he explained.

Anton also reveals how much Strictly has changed over the years: "We have more concepts and themes running through the numbers…It does give you an advantage to play more of a role.

"It's just great fun and great entertainment. It’s another vintage year on Strictly."

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 6:55pm on BBCOne
