Is the BBC planning a Bake Off RIVAL with Mary Berry, Mel Geidroyc and Sue Perkins?

Yesterday, we almost went off cake for good after Mary Berry quit The Great British Bake Off ahead of its move to Channel 4 and TRAITOR Paul Hollywood decided to stay with what remains of our fave show.

This week has been seven days of solid weeping. Brangelina is no more, Hendall is apparently totally off the cards and Heavy D is OFF THE MARKET.

But now we have good news, so listen up.

The beeb is reportedly hoping to bring the band back together minus Zayn (cough, Paul) and create a new cooking show with Mary Berry, Mel Geidroyc and Sue Perkins.

BBC sources said they'd be working on new formats and would find a chef to fill the Paul-Hollywood-shaped hole in our lives (with James Martin as a strong contender).

“We’ve got three of the fab four staying with us. We’re thrilled," an insider told The Mirror.

“The chances of us reuniting Mary, Mel and Sue are very high.”

BBC director of content Charlotte Moore said: "Mary is an extraordinary woman, loved and adored by the British public, and the BBC is her natural home.

"I’ve been very lucky to have had the pleasure of working with Mary over the last seven years and I’m so pleased that relationship will continue.

"She is an inspiration to generations, a real icon and I can’t wait to cook up more unmissable shows with her in the future.”

The beeb better not be toying with our emotions because lately we've had enough turmoil to last us until we're 95. What's next? The end of Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher? Beyonce quitting music? Simon Cowell performing on The X Factor? We can't cope.
