Yesterday’s news that Christopher Biggins had been removed from the Celebrity Big Brother house came as a huge shock.

During Friday’s eviction show, Emma Willis said: Now, we have news. Earlier on today Biggins was removed from the Celebrity Big Brother house. His departure and all the events leading up to it can be seen in tomorrow’s highlights show.”

This very mysterious announcement predictably sent the internet into disarray, with many people speculating the reason behind his removal. Even Ricky Gervais waded in, tweeting: “Does anyone know what Biggins actually said?”

Nope – soz Ricky.

But a few people claimed they did - and a transcript claiming that he was removed because of a Nazi joke circulated on social media.

However, Channel 5 has denied these reports. A spokesperson told heat: “We can confirm that a transcript claiming to relate to Christopher Biggins' removal from the CBB house is 100% fake."

All we know so far is that he was removed for offensive comments. A statement yesterday said: "Big Brother has taken the decision to remove Christopher Biggins from the Celebrity Big Brother house.

"Since entering Big Brother, he has made a number of comments capable of causing great offence to housemates and the viewing public.

"Big Brother does not tolerate offensive language capable of causing widespread offence. Christopher Biggins has left the house."

The speculation continues…

Biggins has been no stranger to controversy while in the house, having been accused of biphobia after comments he made during a conversation with Renee Graziano.

While Renee was discussing sexuality with Frankie Grande, Biggins asked her: "Do you have a problem with gay people?" to which she replied that she didn't.

She said: "When you're gay you're gay. And I think it's beautiful because I think it's who you are and it's natural."

All well and good, eh?

But then they continued.

"But I think today in society they kind of force things on people and they confuse you."

Biggins agreed, adding that he felt some people claiming to be LGBT were trying to be "trendy". Renee then said: "If you're gay, you know it!"

Biggins then completely shocked us by saying: "I think the worst type though is, I'm afraid to say, the bisexuals. What it is, is people not wanting to admit they are gay."

Seriously, Biggins?

Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight at 10:30pm on Channel 5.
