Last year was a big ol' pile of crap and mainly because we received the devastating news that the Great British Break Off as we know it would change forever.

The show will be aired on Channel 4, but for a while it was thought that the BBC could block GBBO from hitting our screens until 2018, due to contract issues with Love Productions.

Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood

BUT it has since been reported that the BBC have backed down and the show has been given the green light.

Speaking to The Sun, a source revealed: "This has been a massive blockage which would have seen the show off air until 2018.

"That could have done real damage to the brand. But most importantly, the fans would have missed out."

Woo! This means we could be watching a load of amateur bakers frolicking in flour and conjuring up deliciously doughy creations in no time.

Just like old times, right? RIGHT?

Well, we're not quite sure we’re ready for a Bake Off sans Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins' foodie innuendos.

And we're a bit apprehensive as to how we'll react seeing Paul 'the traitor' Hollywood without his partner in baking crime, Mary Berry.

Hmmm.

In the meantime, the applications for the new series of Bake Off are just about to close and LEGEND Val Stones has a little message for any wannabe bakers.

P.s did you hear about that time Val and Selasi Gbormittah were ultimate #frienshipgoals?

And did you see what happened when these Bake Off stars had a reunion? WE LITERALLY CANNOT DEAL.
