It feels like we've only just recovered from the Love Island comedown and whirlwind start of a brand-new series of Celebrity Big Brother. But now the end date of CBB 2017 has been released and the countdown to the final has begun.

This year the show will end on Friday 25th August, meaning the series will have lasted just over three weeks – twenty-five days in total.

This makes it one of the shortest Celebrity Big Brother series in the show’s history, and the shortest since 2013. CBB 12, when Charlotte Crosby was crowned the winner, is currently the shortest series of the show ever, lasting just 23 days.

Much like the civilian version, the Channel 5 shows has suffered a dip in ratings this year, with only 1.8 million viewers tuning into the CBB 20 launch night on 1 August.

The 20th series has been met with a whole load of controversy. Viewers recently turned on Jemma Lucy and Paul Danan over their treatment of former Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding.

CBB has also been hit with dozens of Ofcom complaints for perceived racism, homophobia and sexism.

Notably, viewers complained about what they thought to be racism after an argument broke out between Apprentice star Karthik Nageson and Paul.

On Sunday night’s episode, Karthik accused Paul of being racist after he seemingly called him ‘Qatar’.
