When Adam Thomas was chosen to do tonight's Bushtucker Trial just minutes after we'd watched him battle the stomach-churning Food Factory, he had one question on his lips: "Why me again?" He seemed baffled when he asked, "Two in a row? I got 11 stars yesterday, and normally they put people up that don’t do well.”
Well, we can answer that, Adam: it's because there's nothing quite like watching a stone-cold fittie get a bit messy. The sight of his guns covered in treacle and feathers did weird things to us yesterday, so we may or may not have picked up the phone and voted a few (hundred) times to get him stripped down to that vest and in action mode again.
Tonight, he and the equally brave Danny took on Cage Rage, working as a team to get 12 stars from an underwater cage. Of course, there’s a lot that can lurk underwater and the lads were soon squealing and groaning as they dodged snakes, water dragons and crabs. In one particular moment of horror, Adam didn’t even notice a PYTHON ON HIS HEAD!
Adam was typically understated about the victory, yelling, “BOOM! 12 stars! No one has ever got 12 stars – I just want to make that clear – and in record-breaking time.” Go on, we’ll give you your moment. We’re too distracted by the wetness to even listen properly…
And it wasn’t just those two on the end of a load of critter action tonight. At the Jungle Museum, everyone endured a nerve-shredding 30 minutes in an exhibit box full of snakes, cockroaches, rats and spiders.
We KNOW it’s wrong to laugh, but Adam’s nervous noises before anything had even happened were yet another highlight for us.
