After Ant McPartlin checked himself into rehab for his prescription drug and drink problems just a few weeks ago, the world has been frantically trying to guess who would stand in for him and host I’m a Celebrity along with Declan Donnelley.
The bets were all hedged on This Morning’s Holly Willloughby, who is good friends with Ant and Dec, and knows how to pull off a funny joke when live on air.
And rumours were also flying around about various other celebrities presenting the show with Dec, including previous winner Scarlett Moffett, Love Island’s very own Caroline Flack and Keith Lemon comic, Leigh Francis.
But now Declan Donnelly has set the record straight once and for all, saying he wouldn’t present the show without his OG sidekick, Ant.
Awwww!
A close friend of the duo told The Mirror: “Dec wouldn’t work on screen without Ant on any major show and he has said the last thing he would do is go to Australia without him.To say he would consider working with Holly was ridiculous. He is a good friend of hers but he would not do that to Ant.
“Ant and Dec are a team with a huge emotional bond, they are like brothers and and Dec will only be hosting I’m A Celebrity with Ant by his side.
“They’ve got months yet to sort things out and the hope is that Ant will bounce back with another hit series of I’m A Celebrity and they will move on from this chapter in their career.”
Isn’t Dec’s loyalty just totally ADORBZ.
