To be honest, when you think of Dynasty, you're probably picturing dated shoulder pads, big hair and power suits rather than a sassy AF new TV show. And we definitely wouldn’t blame you. The original ABC show running from 1981 to 1989 was famous for its exaggerated silhouettes, embellished clothes and a dependency on extra-hold hairspray. And it was pretty iconic, right?
Well, now it's BACK! But the show’s been given a 2017 update and it looks so damn good.
The reboot is the brainchild of the creators of Gossip Girl and The OC (two of the greatest TV shows in the history of TV shows, tbh) so we have VERY high hopes
What's Dynasty all about? Will the remake follow the same story lines?
Just like the original, set in Denver, Colorado Dynasty follows the lives of two of America's wealthiest families: the Carringtons and the Colbys.
While the original focussed on the on-going war between these two families, the 2017 reboot puts more emphasis on the battle between billionaire Blake Carrington's daughter Fallon and his new fiancé Cristal Flores.

Many of the original characters (main and minor) from the '80s original remain in the remake.

However, there's not yet any mention of Alexis – Blake Carrington's first wife – who was originally portrayed by Joan Collins.
What's Dynasty's connection to Gossip Girl? And The OC?
The Dynasty remake has been developed by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.
Josh and Stephanie are the geniuses behind the legendary Gossip Girl (best TV program in the history of TV programs) and The OC (another bloody great show, tbh), so we're predicting a whole load of dramz, sassiness and just all-round brilliance.
They've also teamed with Revenge writer Sallie Patrick and Dynasty's original creators Esther and Richard Shapiro.
Where can you watch Dynasty?
Dynasty will be broadcast on the CW network in the US. There's not yet any news on where it will be broadcast in the UK. We'll keep ya posted.
When is the Dynasty remake on TV?
An exact transmission date has not yet been published but it's thought it will air in the US later this year. So hopefully it will hit the UK shortly after.
