Game Of Thrones' Carice van Houten, who plays the show's menacing witch, The Red Woman, Melisandre reckons that Jon Snow "can't be dead".

Speaking at Comic Con last week the actress was quizzed by fans desperate to know the fate of everyone's favourite curly-haired know-nothing, after the season 5 finale left it ambiguous whether Jon Snow had died.

Fans held out hope as Melisandre - who's been known to dabble in magical mischief - might be able to revive Kit Harrington's beloved character.

The Sun reports that when asked if Jon Snow had definitely popped his winter clogs, she said: "No, he can't be dead. No."

But will she be able to save him?

She continued: "I've seen that on the internet; like I've seen stuff saying, 'We'll forgive you if you save him'."

Fans were left shocked during season 5 when Melisandre burned Stannis' young daughter alive in a bid to help him secure the throne. It didn't work.

"I had so many people on Twitter telling me 'f**k off, bitch'.

"I've never had so many death wishes in my life. It was so interesting to experience that."

We're not sure if we'd call death wishes "interesting", more "terrifying", but each to their own...
