Emma Watson was last week subject to some (frankly outrageous) trolls claiming she couldn't be a feminist because she posed topless on Vanity Fair.

She then had the (frankly incredible) comeback: "I really don’t know what my tits have to do with it. It’s very confusing. I’m confused. Most people are confused. I’m always just kind of quietly stunned."

Speaking during an interview for Beauty and the Beast, she continued to her co-star Dan Stevens: "They were saying that I couldn’t be a feminist and… and have boobs.

"Feminism is about giving women choice. Feminism is not a stick with which to beat other women with."

Which seemed all well and good and very, very reasonable. Were it not for the fact that several people have noted she criticised Beyonce for a similar reason in an interview with Wonderland magazine in 2014.

"As I was watching [the videos] I felt very conflicted, I felt her message felt very conflicted in the sense that on the one hand she is putting herself in a category of a feminist, but then the camera, it felt very male, such a male voyeuristic experience of her."

Several people on Twitter have condemned Emma for her seeming hypocrisy on this issue, examples of which you can see below.

And now Emma has hit back at criticism by posting the interview on her Twitter page, on which she's highlighted her words in yellow.

She wrote: "This is the part of my 2014 interview with Tavi where we talked about Beyoncé. My words are in bold."
