He reckons it was a 'healthy discussion'

It feels like lierally forever ago, but remember that massive Jonny Mitchell/Camilla Thurlow feminism debate on Love Island that sparked an ever-necessary conversation about equality and ignorance around the subject. Well - now Jonny's been dumped from the island - we thought we'd better get his take on it. Right of reply and all that, eh?

If you cast your mind back a few weeks, you'll remember Jonny admitted he's 'feel emasculated if a girl paid' on a date before claiming 'feminism believes in almost inequality.' Pretty controversial, quite frankly ridiculous.

Well now - after Camilla confronted him and questioned his standpoint - Jonny's had his say and reckons he 'doesn't regret' what he sees as a 'healthy discussion.'

Chatting to us, Jonny said: "I'm not sure how it came across, but when we had that discusion it was a matter of having exactly the same opinion, just a slightly different view."

Riiight.

"We definitely looked at it exactly the same. I wasn't disagreeing with her. We talked about it after that and agreed that, actually, we had the same opinion. I don't regret that; I think it was a healthy discussion and we didn't conflict opinion whatsoever."

So things are genuinely good with Camilla now? "It would be great for Cam's confidence and self esteem to win," he said, "So I'd love to see her win it."

This all comes after Jonny faced criticism from Women's Aid over his 'controlling' comments to Tyla Carr. CEO Polly Neate wrote on the charity's website: "When Jonny said that new arrival Theo would have to prise Tyla'from my cold dead hands' it was not romantic.

"It did not demonstrate how much he liked her. It was possessive and controlling. What can all too easily be passed off as banter, actually carries the underlying sentiment that this man believes he owns this woman."
