Christopher Biggins was removed from the Celebrity Big Brother house after being given three warnings for “offensive language” that could cause “widespread offence”.

Last night’s episode saw him make yet more shocking comments about bisexuals – this time in reference to the disease AIDS.

CBB: ALL the latest news, gossip and most shocking moments

He said: “I think it was a bisexual disease if I’m going to be honest. A guy went to Africa and what they didn’t realise is a lot of bisexuals went to those countries and had sex with those people and brought it back to their own families.”

We learned while he was in the Diary Room that this was his third offence – the other two being a Holocaust ‘joke’ to Katie Waissell and other earlier biphobic comments.

Big Brother said: "Due to your continued use of unacceptable language in the house, which is capable of causing wide-spread offence, Big Brother is left with no option other than to remove you from the house."

He replied: “I’m sorry and I’m very sad.”

Last night he broke his social media silence on the matter, tweeting to his followers: "I would like to thank all my Twitter supporters for their kindness and support, which I shall always wear. Love you all, mean it !!!!!!!!!!"

His earlier comments about bisexuals had caused widespread shock and upset.

While Renee was discussing sexuality with Frankie Grande, Biggins asked her: "Do you have a problem with gay people?" to which she replied that she didn't.

She said: "When you're gay you're gay. And I think it's beautiful because I think it's who you are and it's natural."

All well and good, eh?

But then they continued.

"But I think today in society they kind of force things on people and they confuse you."

Biggins agreed, adding that he felt some people claiming to be LGBT were trying to be "trendy". Renee then said: "If you're gay, you know it!"

He then completely shocked us with: "I think the worst type though is, I'm afraid to say, the bisexuals. What it is, is people not wanting to admit they are gay."

Seriously, Biggins?

Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on Channel 5
