We don’t know about you, but we CANNOT WAIT until the new series of X Factor starts on Saturday night. It’s the ultimate comfort telly. Literally, plonk us on the sofa with a tub of ice cream, some singing and a few sob stories and we’re in our element!

But if Simon Cowell can be trusted then it seems like some of the judges have taken rather more convincing to turn up for the show at all. According to the big boss, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh in particular have some rather extreme demands in their riders… (well, they are X Factor OG’s after all.)

At the show's launch event yesterday, he told The Sun: “Their riders are outrageous – I sign off on them!"

When Sharon said that hers was only “a bag of bloody almonds and a bottle of water,” he responded, “We have to hire a fleet of aeroplanes to fly you in.”

LOL.

Sharon then responded: “I wish. I wish my plane could follow yours. Your rider – it makes Mariah’s [Carey] look sad. Jlo, eat your bloody heart out.”

Turning to Louis, Si then said: “Mine is very basic: water and a hairdryer. Louis’s isn’t far behind yours [Sharon] – he has to have a cosmetic doctor on 24hr standby within 10 miles of whatever venue we’re filming in.

“That is true. 24 hours. That didn’t happen 14 years ago.”

Hmmm. Somehow Simon, we think you might be stretching the truth a bit, there.

The X Factor crew then all turned on Mr Cowell, with Nicole Scherzinger chipping in, “Simon’s got a whole long rider”, and Dermott O Leary adding, “He likes a lot of citrus based fruit – he likes a satsuma.”

Good to know, Dermot. Good to know…

There was clearly a lot of banter flowing around yesterday, as Louis also made a rather sassy jab at Nicole, claiming she lied about her age. You can read about that here.
