We recently heard through the grapevine that there was pretty much no chance Cheryl would be returning to The X Factor in any way, shape or form.
This came as documents filed at Companies House show that CherCo Productions Ltd - the company set up to handle Cheryl's income from The X Factor - has officially been liquidated. In other words, it looked very likely she would NOT be returning to the show.
Prior to this, Simon basically suggested that he and Chezza weren't speaking, meaning any hopes that she'd be returning to the panel or as a guest judge seemed to be squashed.
Addressing the rumours he'd offered Cheryl a spot on the show alongside Liam and baby Bear Payne, Simon simply told the Mirror 'it’s bullshit' before adding "I haven’t spoken to her in six months."
ALAS, it has since come to light that the former X Factor judge will actually be returning to the show to help out at the Judges' Houses stage of the competition.
According to the Mail on Sunday, Chezza is jetting off to the South of France to help Simon pick his final three acts – at a luxury villa, of course.
A source told the paper: "Simon is ecstatic at getting Cheryl back working with him again.
"They’ve had their ups and downs to say the least but he hugely respects her opinion."
Apparently, they're back in contact and 'speaking a lot' after some time out of each other's lives.
The source added: "For Cheryl, this felt like the right way for her to make a return to the limelight after having Bear.
"She has the tough task of picking Simon’s final acts so the pressure is on and he is very much looking forward to the banter."

In other Cheryl news, her bae Liam Payne recently hinted at wedding plans.
The One Direction star revealed he'd marry Cheryl after baby number two, which means there's some very exciting times ahead for Chiam.
