We at heat basically spend our entire lives hoping and hoping and praying someone, SOMEWHERE (preferably Tina Fey et al), will make a Mean Girls 2 with the same cast as the original.

(We're just going to pretend that absolute trash that was actual Mean Girls 2 never happened).

Lindsay Lohan (love her) has been heavily hinting that she, like the rest of the world, isn't over the film yet.

She Facetimed with Aaron Samuels, posed with Gretchen and Regina, and said during a Facebook live chat: "I have been trying so hard to do a Mean Girls 2 - it is not in my hands." She added that she understands that the film's screenwriter Tina Fey and producer Lorne Michaels 'are very busy' with other projects.

But Rachel McCadams (Regina George) is apparently less keen on the idea.

"Rachel has worked hard to get away from being typecast and is finally being taken seriously as an actress," a source told heat.

"The last thing she wants is for her name to be back in the headlines next to a desperado like Lindsay. It’s an awkward situation because Lilo still thinks she’s the big star from that movie. Rachel’s told her reps a sequel never going to happen."

BUT, speaking last year, Rachel had nothing but praise for the best film in the world.

"I loved doing that movie. We reunited for a photo shoot a couple of years ago, but I don't know (about a sequel). I would do anything with Tina Fey, so if she's up for it."

The source continued: "Rachel’s got nothing against Mean Girls, she loves the movie. She thinks it was a great start to her career but the key word is start. She’s way past that stage now. Rachel’s constantly being offered movie roles and she turns most things down. She only wants to do stuff that is meaningful in some way. She’s building an award-winning career, there’s no way she’s signing on to some teenage sequel."

This is so not fetch.
