Love Island's latest dumpee Craig Lawson's faced a fair bit of criticism since appearing on the show. After his ex-fiancée Sian Dilley branded him an 'absolute joke' amid claims he'd abandoned her and his kids, he's taken to social media to set the record straight.

But did you know he was actually supposed to get MARRIED while in the villa? Yup.

He might be talking about the future of his relationship with Camilla Thurlow now, but pre-Palma Craig was actually engaged to Sian before things got broken off back in November last year. Oh, and it just so happens the proposed wedding day was actually while he was on the show. Awkies.

Chatting to us, Craig revealed: "I was engaged. Our wedding date was 1st July, but we split up back in November. How that’s got out is beyond me – sounds like desperation to me. I’d completely forgotten about the date of the wedding."

Bloody hell.

Craig also defended himself over claims he 'abandoned' his children to appear on the telly. He added: "I was sworn to secrecy, obviously it can’t be let out beforehand.

"Obviously I was itching to tell my kids as soon as I knew but I couldn’t because if their mums knew about it they would have been shouting about it from the rooftops. But I did leave a little video for my kids, I don’t know if you’ve seen it, to let them know.

"I’m such a proud dad, I love my kids more than anything in the world – I’ve missed them like crazy and cannot wait to get home and give them a big cuddle. Obviously my ex wasn’t happy about it but at the end of the day it’s my life. I have my kids every other weekend and I’ve only missed out on 2 days – and I’ll be making up for it."
