After spending the last year fuming, complaining and shouting about the fact the Great British Bake Off was ripped away from its BBC1 home and would be moving to Channel 4, we were actually pleasantly surprised by the fact that it’s basically exactly the same.
Awks.
The only difference, obv, is that it has an almost entirely new line-up, after Mary Berry, Sue Perkens and Mel Giedroyc chose not to join Paul Hollywood in moving with the show.
But it turns out we quite liked the new line-up, too (we have always fancied Noel Fielding lol).
And Mary Berry herself has now given her verdict at last night’s TV Choice Awards (which was LIIIIT, btw) – telling Huffington Post that she thinks “it’ll be brilliant”, and that she’s glad it’s followed the same format.
heat also caught up with Mez Bez at the awards, and asked her what she thought of all the Hollywood handshakes Paul was handing out so liberally.
