Last night’s X Factor final was always going to be an emotional rollercoaster, but we didn’t expect the extent to which it tugged at our heartstrings.
It was up there with the best final weekends ever, surely?
A standout moment was when Sharon Osbourne welled up a bit after revealing how much it meant to her to return to the show, hinting at the marriage troubles she’d had with husband Ozzy Osbourne earlier this year (when he reportedly had a string of affairs).
When Demot O’Leary asked what her favourite moment of the series was, she replied: "My highlight of this series is coming back. It came at a time in my life when I really, really needed to have fun.
"I can't tell you what it's meant to me, I have loved every minute."
At this point Simon Cowell (who’s a big old softy now, really, isn’t he?) got up and gave her a massive hug and the rest of the panel joined in.
When asked the same question, Louis Walsh added: "My highlight was getting my job back and getting the groups!" to which Dermot replied: "Right back at you Louis!"
We REALLY hope these guys are all back next year!
