I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! is probably one of the only things we look forward to when summer comes to an end and we have to start piling on about 24824 layers before leaving the house. To be honest, it basically gives us an excuse to cancel all plans, stay wrapped up in our warm, cosy duvets and sit back and enjoy three weeks of riveting reality TV, as we're transported to the Australian jungle.

BUT things may be about to change in the not so distant future, as show bosses are reportedly under pressure from the Australian government to change filming locations.

Apparently, they want to move the show away from the Springbrook National Park in New South Wales, to the beaches of Kangaroo Island when the contract runs out in 2020.

Eh?

According to The Mirror, agent general Bill Muirhead urged ITV boss Kevin Lygo to consider the move in a letter, saying: "With a third of the island covered by national parks, Kangeroo Island is teeming with creatures not found anywhere else, most of which we’re more than happy for people to eat on TV."

Umm....?

Apparently, the move from the east coast to the island off Adelaide in the south will not only boost tourism in southern Australia, but also provide contestants with new challenges.

As well as kangaroos (duh) the island also boasts bandicoots, wallabies, possums, seals and koalas, as well as more creepy-crawlies then you can throw a hungry celebrity at.

Bill reportedly continues in his letter: “Looking forward to 2020, could it be time for a change? I ask you to consider Kangaroo Island, a place pulsating with all the wonder and weirdness Australia has to offer, an island with a name that seems straight out of a story of buccaneers and bushrangers.”
