Here at heat hq we've made absolutely no secret of the fact we're major Harry Potter fans. In fact, we're pretty sure our introduction into the Wizarding World had a way bigger impact on our lives than any other aspects of our childhood, tbh.
IT'S. JUST. SO. DAMN. MAGICAL.
Anyway, now that the sequel to the Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them is officially in production, more details have become readily available. And it sounds pretty bloody great. There's even a few references to some classic HP plots, apparently.
According to Metro, Warner Bros Studio admitted on Monday, "the film expands the wizarding world, moving from New York to London and onto Paris."
They also revealed that the film – screenplay written by the one and only J.K Rowling, obvs – will be set in 1927, and pick up a few months on from where the first film left off: "After Newt [Scamander] helped to unveil and capture the infamous Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald."
This film will see the introduction of a young Albus Dumbledore, played by FITLORD Jude Law (is it wrong to fancy Dumbledore?), who's tasked with tracking down Grindelwald after his dramatic escape.
Eddie Redmayne will make his return as Newt, who's called upon to help Dumbledore find Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) and we'll also get to meet Newt's older brother, Theseus Scamander, a war hero and Auror.
Leta Lestrange – the woman from Newt's past who we caught a glimpse of in a photo – will be making a bigger appearance in the sequel.
GAHHH! We literally cannot wait.
But we're going to have to, as the film is not due for release until 16 November 2018.
Until then, let's remind ourselves of why Harry Potter is so amazingly brill and reflect on all the life lessons we've learned from the last 20 years.
