In a 2016 of death, despair, Brexit, Donald Trump, the end of Bake Off, sadness and misery, there remains one shining light.

This is, of course, LOVE ISLAND.

If ever there was a place of true happiness, Love Island was it. THREE of the finalists from this year's show are still together, discussing getting married, getting puppies, getting expensive gifts from each other etc etc.

And now there's going to be the first ever Love Island baby.

We couldn't be happier.

The lucky parents-to-be are Luis Morrison and Cally Jane Beech, who starred in last year's series.

luis and cally

The couple took to Twitter to share the news. Cally posted: "I have the best news to tell you all me and my amazing man @luismorrison39 are expecting a addition to our lives in 2017#loveisland #jamal."

And Luis followed it up with: "Got some unbelievable news that I thought I'd share with you all! I'm excited to announce that Me & @MissCallyJane are having a baby #jamal."

If you, like we were, are confused about who on earth Jamal is, it’s the fake baby they had to take care of while on the island.

CUUUUUTE.

Last year's winner, Jessica Hayes, also took to Twitter to congratulate the pair, posting: "Congrats to these beauty's @MissCallyJane @LuisMorrison39 expecting a lil babaaa so happy for you both. Big Love."

Just think. This time next year it could be Cara de la Hoyde and Nathan Massey.

In other Love Island news, the show is returning for a one off spin-off Christmas special this year.

An ITV source said: "The whole project is currently in pre-production but there’s a real buzz around the idea.

"It’s just a case of working out the logistics with schedules and locations," they added to The Sun.

AHHHH.
