ANYWAY, Ross Butler plays Zach Dempsey in 13 Reasons Why, as well as Reggie Mantle in Riverdale (he’s been very busy).

Who is Ross Butler?
He’s an American actor who’s recently starred in Netflix dramas Riverdale and 13 Reasons Why, which are both pretty much the only things anyone is talking about right now.
He was born in Singapore to an American father and Indonesian mother, and was raised by his mother in Virginia.
He’s also been in shows such as Teen Wolf and K.C. Undercover.
He was described by NBC as “Hollywood’s leading man waiting in the wings”, and speaking to Variety about the lack of Asian representation in Hollywood, he said: “It’s something that we’re all aware of and something that’s really talked about. There are no Asian leading men in Hollywood. There’s not an Asian Ryan Gosling or an Asian Brad Pitt.
“Reggie [his Riverdale character] was important to me because he isn’t seen as an Asian character, because he wasn’t. He’s just known as one of the guys, and in a comic that was based in American culture. The show is no different. I’m not the Asian kid of Riverdale; I’m Reggie and I just happen to be Chinese.
“It’s important because it’s telling the story that Asian-Americans are in American culture. They’re a big part of our population. It’s a stepping stone to helping find our Asian-American leading movie stars. That’s the next step.”

Ross Butler as Reggie Mantle in Riverdale
Ross played Reggie Mantle in Netflix series Riverdale (here’s how to follow him and the rest of the cast on Snapchat, btw).
It was recently reported that the character will be re-cast for the next series, due to Ross having other commitments.
The show’s creator, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, told TVLine: “We love what Ross did with the role of Reggie [this season], but because of his commitments to other projects, we couldn’t use him nearly as much as we would have liked.
“[Next season], we want more Reggie on our show—he’s Archie’s rival!—and because Ross is unavailable to come back to Riverdale, we’re looking for a new Reggie.”

He played Zach Dempsey in 13 Reasons Why, and a whole lot of people have taken the above statement about him being recast in Riverdale due to his ‘commitments’ to mean that there will be a second series. We really hope so!
