Yesterday the internet became home to one more sacred element of pop culture: where Ed Sheeran and Val from Bake Off’s love has blossomed.
Val Stones won our hearts on the BBC One cookery show last year. Now a national treasure, she regularly tweets pictures and videos of her baking to Ed’s tunes, dancing around the kitchen and being the ultimate fan girl.
But her love for the popstar’s songs has gone generally unnoticed by the singer. He did once reply to a tweet of hers, but it’s unclear whether he just thought she was just a fan.
However, last night our hearts melted as Ed FINALLY acknowledged what an absolute babe Val is. After non-stop campaigning by Bake Off fans he sent her this video message:
AWWWW. Can you imagine that?! Val and Ed cooking together
The bake off star posted the message on her Twitter page, thanking the singer and letting him know she can't make his gig at Glastonbury, where he is headlining.
Our hearts have OFFICIALLY melted.
