Taylor appears to be doing prettyyyyy well atm. Her new album, Reputation, is set to be a MAJOR success, with hit single Look What You Made Me Do soaring to the top of the UK singles chart.
But it seems Taylor is keen to go even further with the album by adding a number of key phrases from the album to her collection of trademarked lyrics.
According to TMZ, Tay is keen to use these lyrics on merchandise – everything from t-shirts to notebooks to guitar picks.
The trademarked lines we know so far will be song title Look What You Made Me Do, as well as one of the key phrases of the song: “The old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now.”
This isn’t the first time Taylor has pulled a business move like this – she did the same with previous album 1989, trademarking phrases such as “Party like it’s 1989” and “This sick beat”.
Taylor’s new single Look What You Made Me Do is smashing all sorts of records: in its first week alone it had 5.3 million streams and 30,000 downloads.
She released the second song of her new album last weekend, Ready For It, after teasing it in a Twitter ad for ESPN’s college football coverage.
Fans have, of course, gone into detective mode trying to figure out who this one is directed at, with fingers being pointed towards Kim and Kanye – and Taylor’s ex Harry Styles!
