Last night saw Candice Brown take the Great British Bake Off crown in a move that was a surprise to no one. Come on, she was blatantly going to win from episode one. Even our heroine Val Stones thought so.
So, while the final was emotional but predictable we were totally blindsided when it was announced that Val, who almost everyone wishes was their northern nanna, announced that she was going on a "baking trip" to Ayia Napa.
The internet exploded with excitement.
"Honestly, the only way I think I can cope with the fact the bake off ending the way we know it is for a "keeping up with val in Ayia Napa," said one.
"I wish I could go on Val's bake off holiday to Ayia Napa," said another, echoing what every right-thinking person feels.
But is Val actually going to Ayia Napa? Is she though?
We have heard a rumour (that we can't find substantiated anywhere, mind) that Ayia Napa may be code for I'M A CELEBRITY… GET ME OUT OF HERE!
Can it be true? Because if so, that would be one of the best things EVER.
Either way, we're sure last night wasn't the last we'll see of Val.
Let's remind ourselves of that exit speech, shall we?
