Waterloo Road is, objectively, the best thing to have ever been on the television.
We loved it so much, we even forgave it for that utterly ridiculous storyline in which they moved the school to Scotland – and we watched it right through to the very end.
Realistically we got far too old for it towards the last few series’, but we powered through anyway.
We cried and cried and cried and cried when the final episode aired, but yesterday we got all excited by the prospect it could be coming back.
As reported by the Daily Star, the official Waterloo Road Facebook page has changed its logo – and some of the comments are taking this to mean it could be returning.
People were writing things like: “Does this mean it's coming back”, “I miss Waterloo road so much was such a good wee program, would love it to come back like and I'm sure loads off others would to!”, and “Bring it back! And bring series 9 & 10 out on DVD please!”.
Some in the comments reckon that Waterloo Road could be merging with another school for a new Channel 4 TV programme.
One wrote: “I saw an advert on Channel 4* yesterday about 2 schools becoming one school with lots of teenage angst and drama etc, looked very much like Waterloo Road to me and I can't wait to see it!! Think it was called Ackley Bridge.”
Another added: “Ackley Bridge start in June on channel 4 at 8pm,I have seen the trailer and it looks really good,there is two actors in it from Eastenders. Looks very much like Waterloo Road, I was a big fan of Waterloo Road watched all the series on a Wednesday evening”
And now Waterloo Road has responded to reports it's returning to our screens, posting the following on Facebook.
Still, at least we get to watch old episodes on YouTube!
