Part of the fun of The X Factor is watching some of the deluded, tone deaf auditionees walk into a room and deliver a performance capable of shattering glass.

Sure, it’s great to see some of the truly talented performers, but we don’t have to worry about them just yet because we can find out what happens to them later in the series.

However, a couple of the contestants have blown it and have accidentally revealed their talent show fate online.

Contenders Christian Burrows and Melissa Pedro both publicly told people how they got on in the auditions before their most recent performance aired on television.

Melissa impressed the judges last week after singing Gnarls Barkley’s Crazy but has since suggested she got the boot at the Judges’ Houses stage of the show, which has already been recorded.

She tweeted: "Had the most amazing 7 days. @Radioleary you have been amazing!! Such a genuine person on & off cam! Going to miss your supportive high 5s!"

Christian, who moved the judges with an emotional song he’d written for his late baby brother, also hinted back in July that he may have made it through the Six Chair Challenge, the stage after Boot Camp.

He tweeted: "Shopping at Trafford Centre for the 'Lads' holiday! Funny when you don’t even know where your going to be going to."

Meanwhile, singer Sacha Taylor, whose audition is yet to be aired on the show, wrote: "Being in the final 26 girls for X Factor 2016 is such an achievement… Even if boot camp didn’t exactly go to plan."

However, a show source told Mirror Online: "Viewers will have to tune in to find out who or hasn’t gone through each stage of the competition."
