Simon Cowell has delivered some devastating news for One Direction fans – he’s not sure the band will ever get back together after their hiatus. SOB!

The group announced they were taking some time out and went their separate ways earlier this year but previously told anyone who would listen that it was just a temporary break.

But Simon, who has been the boss of Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan since they were put together on The X Factor in 2010, says he’s not sure they will ever get back together.

He told Billboard: “I don’t know if it’s a hiatus or a break-up, to be honest.”

Simon is said to be worth almost £390 million with 1D being the top act in his music empire.

So, unsurprisingly, Simon is holding off on finding out if his prized possession won't be reuniting to make more music.

On getting a definite answer, he said: “In a weird way, I don’t want to know. I don’t think they’ve had enough time to experience what it’s like not being in the group to really answer that.”

Meanwhile, Simon is refusing to open up about any solo plans the boys might have.

Harry was widely tipped to be the most successful outside of the group but the music mogul is not giving away many details on the singer’s future.

Simon said: “He’ll work out what kind of record he wants to make because he’s got great taste – which is always a help.

“All the writers and producers want to work with him, understandably, but he probably won’t rush it.”
