We adore The X Factor, here at heat HQ.

We blub into our cheese sarnie during the endless sob stories, we definitely fancy Simon Cowell, despite his perennial pink chest and it's on our bucket list to receive a Dermott O'Leary hug.

However, it seems The X Factor is not as real as the bosses at ITV would like us to believe...

An insider at The X Factor has told The Daily Star that every contestants who had reached the later stage had been asked to take part by researchers.

Appaz, X Factor scouts spend months scouring the country to find talent, whether it's attending open mic nights or hunting for them on YouTube.

The scouts then contact anyone they think will be good for the show and ask them to audition.

INTERESTING.

An industry insider told The Daily Star, 'The whole point of X Factor is that it gives anyone the chance to make it. But this series, it’s like only ones cherry-picked by the show have got to judges’ houses.

It will feel to some like the process is fixed in favour of the ones picked out by staff.'

So, basically everything is a lie. Next, they will be saying that EastEnders isn't real and Jess and Dom won't last!

Lololololol

X Factor spokesperson told heatworld: “It’s no secret, like many other TV talent shows, we approach people to make them aware of the auditions. Anyone who applies goes through the exact same process and no one is ever guaranteed that they will go through to the next stage. All auditions are judged on the performance on the day."
