Oh dear – The X Factor’s having a bit of a rough time of it today.
First, the ITV show got slated for misleading viewers over farm lady, Hannah Marie Kilminster, who claims she only sings for her livestock, but has actually worked with Simon Cowell on Britain’s Got Talent in the past.
Naughty.
And now, contestant from Saturday’s show - Shianne Phillips - says the whole show’s a fix.
Shianne split the judges when she sang Whitney Houston’s* I Have Nothing.* Simon Cowell and Rita Ora thought she wasn’t good enough to make it through to the next round, but Cheryl Fernandez-Versini seemed to like it.
Now she has hit out at the show saying her performance was heavily edited.
"It's staged," she told FLIC. "They posted around 30 per cent of my performance, and it was edited to look entirely different from how it really was.
"I sang two songs and received four standing ovations. I was forced to sing the Whitney song and was told if I sang the song, I would get through. I had actually chosen four other songs instead."
"I received two standing ovations when I sang Homeless [by Leona Lewis], and the audience was booing Simon and Rita," she recalled.
"The entire arena of 5,000 people were chanting, 'Shianne, Shianne, Shianne' for ages, along with, 'Say yes, say yes'. Cheryl was going crazy, cheering and clapping over her head. She was saying, 'Yes, yes, this is it'.
"X Factor? It's more like Fix Factor.”
