Twin singers Brooks Way may have been given the boot from The X Factor but it seems something good may have come from the show for band member Josh Brooks.

The aspiring pop star shared a picture of himself cosying up to former fellow contestant Sam Lavery, sparking speculation of a romance between the pair.

Josh, 17, and his brother Kyle were axed from the series earlier this week after Josh was accused of being physically abusive to his ex Amelia Clarke.

The teenager denied the allegations, saying "the truth will come out" but producers of the ITV programme decided he and his brother could not return this season, replacing them with girlband Four of Diamonds.

However, despite no longer taking part in the competition, it seems Josh is still spending time with Sam, who is in the girls’ category with Simon Cowell as her mentor.

Josh posted a picture of himself getting close to Sam online but quickly deleted the snap.

He captioned the image: “Someone’s camera shy… @SamLavery_.”

Brooks Way were absent from the first live show of this year’s contest last Saturday as the domestic abuse claims surfaced.

After leaving the programme, Josh said: "Due to events in my personal life I’ve decided that it’s best not to be on the show at this time.

"While not everything that has been claimed is true I would like to apologise to everyone involved."

An X Factor spokesman added: "Following the allegations relating to Josh Brooks, we have decided by mutual consent that Brooks Way should leave the competition."

However, it seems appearing on The X Factor may have given their musical career a boost as they tweeted about performing at a show next month.

According to The Sun, they wrote: "How about a headline show in London next month?"

But their exit did hit Josh hard, with him telling Mirror Online: "I’m much more sensitive than Kyle, I’m definitely the twin who worries more.

"I’m more emotional and shed tears. Kyle’s more chilled and laid back. Nan’s raised us to be level-headed."

The X Factor continues on Saturday at 8pm on ITV1.
