Mason Noise got booed on last night's The X Factor after being chosen as one of Nick Grimshaw's Boys – until he apologised to Cheryl Fernandez-Versini live on air.
The finalist, who got into hot water earlier on in the competition for arguing with Simon Cowell about how much air time he was getting, had been caught out when old tweets of his were found to be slagging off Cheryl and the show.

In one now-deleted tweet he asked: "How is Cheryl in the music business, let alone a judge...?" Eesh.
After being picked by Grimmy as one of his final three, the audience booed Mason loudly – twice – despite hosts Caroline Flack and Olly Murs pleading with them not to.
Mason seemed to tear up at the crowd's reaction, but grabbed the microphone and said sorry to Cheryl.
"Cheryl, I'm sorry and I love you," he told her, while she nodded to acknowledge his message.
This morning, Cheryl spoke to* Good Morning Britain* to say she forgives the singer, adding that "everyone says and does things in the heat of the moment".
"The fact that he was man enough to do that live on air, I respect him for it, and him and I will talk and, you know, he's a super talented guy," she continued.
The judge also paid tribute to another of Grimmy's acts, Che Chesterman, whose voice she said is "out of the park".
However, she added that she's not worried about her Group acts, saying: "I'm bringing the A-game, we're going all out."
