We at heat still devote about 95% of our lives to thinking about Harry Potter, so as you can imagine we bloody love a good fan theory.

The latest of these concerns Mad Eye Moody, who we all know was one of the best characters in the series and taken far too soon (RIP, Mad Eye :().

Those of you who claim to be fans but have really only seen the films (shame on you) need not read on, as this theory concerns an excerpt from the book.

All of you will (should) know that Mad Eye's magical eye can do a whole load of shit, including seeing through solid objects.

In Order of The Phoenix, Molly Weasley asks him to use this ability to see if there's a Boggart hiding in a desk at Grimmauld Place.

Moody then replies: "Drawing room... Desk in the corner? Yeah, I see it... Yeah, it's a boggart..."

The hardcore fans among you will know that Remus Lupin states in book three that nobody actually knows what a Boggart looks like when on its own, due to it taking the form of the viewer's worst fear.

"The boggart sitting in the darkness within has not yet assumed a form," he explains. "He does not yet know what will frighten the person on the other side of the door. Nobody knows what a boggart looks like when he is alone, but when I let him out, he will immediately become whatever each of us most fears."

So loads of people have pointed out that this doesn't quite add up -

Does Moody, having seen it alone inside a desk, know what they look like? Hasn't he thought to mention it? Or maybe the Boggart knew he was looking at him?

Or maybe we take Harry Potter too seriously?

Of course we don't – that would be riddikulus!!!!!

HA HA HA
