Hollyoaks' Kieron Richardson has announced the sex of the twins that he and his partner Carl Hyland are expecting...

They are having one of each - a baby boy AND a baby girl!

Kieron, 31, and Carl announced that they were expecting twins via a surrogate in a super cute Intagram video just before Christmas.

Kieron, who married Carl in April 2015, spoke to Digital Spy: "Our mums have done most of the buying for the babies so far.

"We wanted to wait to see whether we needed to buy pink or blue, but now we know we can buy both colours, as we're having our very own Prince and Princess."

Kieron went on to talk about his experience with his on-screen children: "I've had the best training ever with little Leah and Lucas, although we won't be calling the twins Leah and Lucas - that would be weird."

The dad-to-be has played the character Ste Hay in Hollyoaks since 2007 and has had the chance to really get his teeth into some very meaty storylines - including coming to terms with his homosexuality. Ste's struggle with his sexuality inspired Kieron to come out on This Morning in 2010, despite having realised it himself a few years earlier.

The announcement was made at Christmas and parents-to-be normally wait until the three-month mark before announcing a pregnancy, which would suggest that the baby may be due around June.

We bet these babies will be absolutely gorgeous, and are totally over the moon for Kieron and Carl!
