And it's no surprise that this year, there's a big cake-shaped buzz in the air for the next series, which starts this week.

But aside from us tea-sipping Brits, someone further across the pond has fallen in love with the baking competition, and we can't quite work out how this happened.
Rapping bad boy Snoop Dogg has confessed that he loves the show so much that he's holding out for a private baking sesh with Mary so that he can master the art.
Um. OK.
The one and only D-O-double G admitted that he thought the show was "one of the best" on telly and told Star On Sunday: "The guy is cool but it’s all about my home girl Mary. You know she is the boss."
Awkward. Sorry, Paul. Looks like you might have Snoop eyeing up your spot.
Snoop may not look like your average aproned artisan, but his kitchen skills are apparently exquisite for a different kind of – erm – baking.
"You know, I've been known to do a little baking in my time," he continued.
"I guess you could say my speciality was brownies - just maybe not the kind Mary Berry is used to,"
We're sure you are a culinary whizz, Snoop, but we think we're gonna stick to Mary's brownies. Thanks.
He'll probably be on the first plane over when he finds out Mary can also twerk …
