Nicki Minaj tweeted MTV thanking them for her Video Music Award 2015 nominations for Best Hip Hop Video and Best Female Video, but questioned them as to whether her video for Feeling Myself 'missed the deadline'.

Nicki was clearly referring to the nomination for Video of The Year, in which she wasn't nominated for.

Nicki was criticising MTV for not recognising the success of her video on more than just the music charts, but the success and records broken on social media platforms.

Minaj's criticism of the MTV Video Music Award 2015 nominations has descended into a full-on Twitter row involving loads of celebrities. The singer told MTV that she was upset her videos for Anaconda and Feeling Myself hadn't had more recognition.

MTV has nominated Taylor Swift featuring Kendrick Lamar (Bad Blood), Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars (Uptown Funk), Beyonce (7/11), Ed Sheeran (Thinking Out Loud) and Kendrick Lamar (Alright) for best video. Anaconda has been nominated in the best hip-hop video category, but Feeling Myself, which features Beyonce, has not been put forward for any awards.

Minaj put out a tweet which some people interpreted as being a jibe aimed at Taylor Swift, who featured models and other female celebrities in her Bad Blood video.

Minaj said the media's focus on her disagreement with Taylor was an attempt to "overshadow" the discussion she was trying to have about racial issues in the music industry. Next in the firing line was Ryan Seacrest, who posted a headline on his website (which has now been removed) saying that Minaj had taken "jabs" at Swift.
