TOWIE stars pay tribute to Nanny Pat after show legend dies aged 80

Tributes have poured in for The Only Way Is Essex star Nanny Pat who has passed away.

The legendary cast member, who has been on the show since its first series in 2010, died following a short illness.

A statement from the Wright family released this morning, read: “Sadly our amazing, courageous and beautiful Nanny Pat passed away this morning after a short illness.

“We are overwhelmed by sadness, and the whole family ask for privacy at this horrible time.”

Pat’s fellow TOWIE cast members and fans soon flooded the internet with tributes for the reality star.

Her granddaughter Jessica Wright’s ex Ricky Rayment wrote: “My heart goes out to all the Wrights. Having to say goodbye to a truly incredible lady.”

Former cast member Maria Fowler wrote: “So, so sad to hear that Nanny Pat has passed away, such a wonderful, sweet, fun and kind lady, it was a pleasure working with and knowing you. X”

Vas Morgan tweeted: “Such devastating news. Thoughts and prayers are with the Wright family. RIP Nanny Pat.”

Former TOWIE star Charlie King posted: “Gutted to hear about the passing of Nanny Pat. My thoughts with all the Wright family, Nanny Pat was one of the sweetest ladies ever.”

And Lewis Bloor tweeted: “My thoughts are with the Wright family today sorry to hear this terrible news.”

Pat grew up during the war in the East End of London suffered during the Blitz before working at the Tate & Lyle sugar factory in Canning Town.

She was mother to five children, and had 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
